Today's Bush Bash of the Day, I feel, is probably one of the most important ones I may ever post on this blog. It was (supposedly) banned in America (although I cannot prove that) and shows Bush in some of his proudest, cockiest, and saddest moments. It's ten minutes long, but it's worth the watch; when asked about the death toll in Iraq (which at the time of the interview was only 100), Bush replies with, "These people [the Iraqis] are willing to kill innocent people, they're willing to slaughter innocent people to stop the advance of freedom."
Having said that, here's the Bush Bash of the Day:

Bush Bash of the Day:
The Post Turtle
A country doctor is suturing a laceration on the hand of an old farmer.
Old man: "All you need to know about politics is that young George Bush is a post turtle."
Doctor: "Oh? What is a post turtle?"
Old man: "When yer driving down a country road, and ya come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top? That's a post turtle. Ya know he didn't get there by himself, he don't belong there, he cain't get anything done while he's up there, and you just want to help take the poor thang down."

Bush Bash of the Day:
I found a poll on the internet asking about the "Worst U.S. President Ever." Click here to see the results; 62% feel that George W. Bush has been the worst U.S. President (and for comparison, the runner up has been voted Richard Nixon, with a mere 8% vote). I don't think there's any question about how much Bush is thoroughly disliked.

The countdown is at: 518 days
At 518 days left in the countdown to the end of President Bush, it feels like we still have so far to go. So, here's the Bush Bash of the Day to lighten things up a bit:
Asked by his teacher to compare three presidents, Johnny thought for a moment and said: "Well, George Washington couldn't tell a lie. Richard Nixon couldn't tell the truth. And George W. Bush can't tell the difference."

Well, here we are at 520 days of the Bush administration remaining! Also, I just found a really interesting place to check out: a graph illustrating a history of Bush's approval ratings during different points in his presidency.

For today's Bush Bash of the Day, I've compiled some quotes pertaining to the thoughts and opinions of various celebrities who have spoken out against Bush and/or the Bush administration:
"The problem is we elected a manager, and we need a leader. Let's face it: Bush is just dim."
-George Clooney in GQ
"Bush is a fucking idiot."
-Jennifer Aniston in Rolling Stone
"How could such a destructive man [Bush] be so popular with the American people? . . . Not only is he poisoning our air and water - he's poisoning our political system as well."
-Barbra Streisand in a 2001 letter aimed toward Democrats against Bush
"Since when is offensive language a reason for being unpopular? I find the language of George W. much more offensive."
-Madonna in a 2001 letter to the Los Angeles Times
"I’m not saying I loved Gore, but I’m saying I don’t want that motherfucking Bush in the White House."
-John Cusack
"I don't like Bush. I don't trust him. I don't like his record. He's stupid. He's lazy."
-Cher
"It is criminal to put our servicemen and women in harm's way and to put the lives of so many civilians on the line for the misguided frustrations of the Bush administration."
-Dave Matthews
"I've made a commitment not to make any anti-war statements because I'm afraid of . . . Bush."
-Peter Boyle when interviewed by an "Access Hollywood" reporter

Another day down and another day closer to the end of Bush's reign. Having said that, here's the Bush Bash of the Day:
The Lie Clock
A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, "What are all those clocks?"
St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move."
"Oh," said the man, "whose clock is that?"
"That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie."
"Incredible," said the man. "And whose clock is that one?"
St. Peter responded, "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life."
"Where's Bush's clock?" asked the man.
"Bush's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan."

The countdown is at: 523 days
We begin our countdown with 523 days left of putting up with President Bush. I know there are countdown clocks all over the internet keeping track of the same thing, but I figured I'd use this blog as a means of reemphasizing why we can't wait until he leaves the White House! So for each day, I'll post some kind of Bush humor...be it one of his moronic quotes, a good joke, or a political cartoon of some kind, I'll be showing the world day by day what we WON'T be missing come 1/20/09!
So, here is the first "Bush Bash of the Day:"
"You know, one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror."
-George W. Bush in a September 2006 interview with Katie Couric
